If your wife enjoys writing, can I recommend http://www.ommwriter.com/ - a great writer for getting away from it all!

Personally, I think everyone should start with a netbook, and only be allowed something better, "IF" they have a need for it, like major video encoding, or mega gaming. I love my netbook when I want to surf the net, out on my deck, it doesn't burn my nuts, its a 6 cell battery, and its great for to occasional game of uplink or monkey island. Now I freely admit, I have a beast of a desktop rig too, but I play games that abuse the heck out of the rig. which reminds me, I need another 2 TB hard drives for it soon.

I fully agree with your points. I have done a little retail sales with my company the last few years, and find it funny when you ask a customer what they want to use the computer for. Most never think about this. They want the biggest this, or fastest that, or the cheapest one. Needless to say I try to sell them the one that will fit their needs, which for most people is the cheaper ones, because all they really need is the internet.
Enjoy the Air, I tried one out but wasn't for me, but then my wife would probably love it.
